Flagstaff Session: "Surgical Techniques to Enhance Prosthetic Stability"

It has become increasingly more important for prosthodontists to elevate their knowledge of the surgical procedures that allow for longer lasting restorations. Whether this knowledge is to elevate their own surgical expertise or just have more knowledge of their surgeons' limitations and guidelines, restorative dentists must be able to sift through the vast introduction of new grafting materials and techniques. They need to take a more active role in the pretreatment surgical decisions that might make the difference between a long-lasting restoration, or one that is doomed to fail. In this session our speakers will present evidence-based material that will provide prosthodontists with basis for these decisions.

Silver Lake Session: "Managing New Technology in Private Practice: Does it All Really Improve Prosthetic Stability?

Prosthodontists are constantly inundated with new products and techniques being pushed upon them before careful research is done to support them. Manufacturers promise more efficient and cost effective techniques without the evidence to show that restorations will actually last longer or look better with time. The digital age has also opened up an entire theater for these claims, with tracking software, computer guided milling, and diagnostic imaging that can either make or practices more efficient or just become another headache and expense. In this session our speakers will address these issues and help to sort out the myth from the reality.
